What is the difference between inspection and quarantine in international logistics?

Import and export goods involve many links, one of which is inspection declaration. Those who have heard of customs declaration should not be too familiar with the concept of inspection, and some of them may also have such questions as whether all goods have to be declared for inspection, and what is the difference between declaration and inspection?

Variance 1: Management variance.

Customs clearance, a simple understanding is to declare the goods to the Customs, its competent authority is the Customs; inspection, should be directly to the inspection and quarantine institutions to declare the goods, its competent authority is the inspection and quarantine institutions.

Difference 2: The order of appearance is sequential.

Generally, the inspection is carried out first and then the customs declaration is released. Only after the commodity inspection department inspects and confirms that there is no error, the customs accepts the application for customs declaration, and the auditing and release is carried out first and then the customs release is released. Generally speaking, the inspection is carried out first, and the Customs accepts the customer's application for inspection only after the commodity inspection department confirms that there is no error, and then a series of audits and releases are carried out.

However, in the practical application of international logistics companies, not all goods have to be declared for inspection, only certain countries expressly provide for the goods to be declared for inspection, and all import and export goods have to be declared for customs clearance, there is no doubt about it.

Difference 3: Each has its own role and does not interfere with the other.

It was just mentioned that not all goods have to be declared for inspection, so it can be found that customs declaration and inspection are two links that do not affect each other, and will not affect the other links because of the absence of either one. However, the actual import and export, if it is clearly stipulated that the inspection declaration, will generally fill out the declaration at the same time, so as to avoid any deviation.
